Description of Works

The Town of Wasaga Beach is soliciting tenders from qualified contractors for the construction of Mapleside Drive from Beatrice Drive to Lilac Street, Orchid Drive from Mapleside Drive to Crocus Drive and Lilac Street from Ramblewood Drive to Robinson Road. Refer to Drawing OR-1 for limits of surface and servicing works.

The tendered work generally consists of: 

  1. Installation of erosion and sediment control measures;
  2. Clearing and grubbing of existing trees and brush;
  3. Removal of tree roots and debris within fill;
  4. Topsoil stripping and stockpiling;
  5. Excavation & grading including temporary drainage swales and import fill;
  6. Removals of existing storm structures, dead end barricades, watermain and blowoffs;
  7. Connections to existing watermain, storm sewer and sanitary sewer;
  8. Installation of watermain, storm sewer and sanitary sewer;
  9. Installation of residential sanitary and watermain services,
  10. Installation of road crossing conduits,
  11. Preparation of road subgrade and placement and compaction of granulars,
  12. Placement of base course and top course asphalt,
  13. Installation of concrete curb and gutter,
  14. Installation of signage and dead end barricades,
  15. Concrete sidewalk and boulevard construction,
  16. Site restoration work including topsoil, seed and cover or sod for boulevards and disturbed areas within the construction area.
